We got a very interesting call for collaboration. It was about an innovative project – Marina Pods™. This is something developed as a new alternative to a maritime tourism experience.
Revolutionary Concept in Yachting
The idea of these guys was to provide an alternative to traditional marinas. Providing more access to pristine land and seascapes with essential services is something we need today in the yachting and marine industry.
Leadership and Innovation
Ian Scarffe, The CEO of Marina Pods™ called us to design their solution. We were thrilled to hear that someone found a solution to a very common problem. Now if you want to enjoy a perfect untouched bay, you don’t have to give away all of the luxuries of the modern world. Marina Pod is a solution powered by clean energy resources. It gives you the chance to enjoy nature and all the services provided by one standard marina at the same time.
Design and Functionality
Salt & Water studio did the design of a standard Marina Pod. On one side there is a piece of nature brought on this floating structure, protecting it from the wind at the same time. On the other side, there is a lounge area with a cafe, toilets, and showers. We designed the roof to follow the shape of the waves. It is covered with solar panels. The same design is incorporated in cafe elements – the bar area and the setting area. The whole space is in white and wooden textures. That means it can give a perfect frame to the water and surrounding nature.
