The motor yacht Joy Me was designed to be unique and deeply personal, reflecting the owner’s taste and creating an interior with many dimensions. Each space within the yacht was treated as a separate entity with its atmosphere, emotions, and philosophy.
Our task was clear: the client wanted to update the yacht’s salon, specifically the central bar. The existing bar, with its white color and simple, square geometry, did not align with the client’s vision. The client desired a new bar that would visually enhance the space and become a focal point, blending seamlessly with the existing elements of the salon and dining area, which were to remain unchanged. The new design needed to move the bar towards the side of the yacht and transform it into a decorative and distinctive feature.
Step 1: Understanding the Vision
Our journey began with an in-depth conversation with the client to understand their goals and aspirations for the refit. We explored the yacht, examined the existing layout, and gathered all necessary measurements. We identified the spatial constraints and began brainstorming how to integrate the new bar with the existing elements to create a cohesive design.
Step 2: Crafting the Design
We started by defining a new 2D layout and verifying the possible geometry of the new bar and its position relative to the elements the client wished to retain, including water supply, drainage, and structural supports. This stage ensured that the new design would be feasible within the given space.
Next came the most creative phase: designing the bar in 3D. We explored various solutions, ultimately selecting the best three options to present to the client. Through photomontages, we illustrated how each design would look within the existing space, helping the client visualize the transformation.
Step 3: Refining the Concept
Once the client approved the proposed solution, we moved to the next stage: developing the conceptual design and preparing detailed technical drawings. We carefully selected materials, ensuring they met the aesthetic and functional requirements. This step included specifying all necessary appliances and organizing their placement on the bar’s surface, such as the sink and coffee machine, to ensure the space remained functional.
Step 4: Ensuring Quality Execution
With the technical specifications in hand, we sought bids from contractors experienced with the specified materials and capable of executing the unique design. We provided recommendations for suppliers and monitored the entire process, from detailed planning to packaging, transport, and installation in the salon.
We offered various collaboration options, allowing the clients to choose the one that best suited their needs. Throughout the project, we ensured clear communication and coordination with the contractors, addressing any issues promptly to maintain the highest quality standards.
Enjoying the Results
Now, as the season unfolds, guests aboard the yacht Joy Me can enjoy this unique bar, savoring their favorite drinks in good company and basking in the Mediterranean beauty. The good news is that you can also enjoy it because the Joy Me yacht is available for charter.
