The Yacht Micro-Renovation, The Quickest Way to Refresh the Interior

As you prepare for the upcoming season, here are some scenarios you might encounter: Most of the yacht’s interior is still in excellent condition, but there are a few areas where water has entered veneer overlays, leaving dark stains. Or The dining area still looks modern and new, except for the corner sofa where artificial leather has cracked, and the filling has deteriorated. Or The headboard of the bed and the wall lights beside it are completely outdated, compromising the overall impression of the owner’s cabin.  If you undertake these changes on your own, you’ll likely spend more time organizing…

Industrial style meets comfort in a lovely marina Last month our team came out with a design for a charming little cocktail bar. The object is settled in the lovely marina in the UK and has a glorious view of the surroundings. Yet, although it might seem like a perfect place for chilling and ship spotting, as designers we have to say that the geometry of the place was somewhat challenging. To be more precise, the object has two levels connected by a spiral staircase. Both floors are a bit narrow and unusually shaped. Thus, the final design had to…

You have probably seen him towing other ships, dead boats, construction material and equipment, even garbage. Now, after a lifetime of hard work, this guy went on a well-deserved break! This old river tugboat dates all the way back to 1948. It was the time when vessels like this one were mostly steam powered. The change happened in the 60s when diesel-electric drives were developed. Like most tugboats, Snežnik (or Mr. Snowy as we like to call him) is made of metal and even after all these years his construction is pretty solid. The whole concept originated from an idea to follow the morphology of Montenegrin coastal towns. Designed facilities develop onto inherited matrix by grouping new objects to create many small intimate squares with environmental quality that is characteristic of this region. Although each square is separate ambient, they are mutually connected with the paved stone path running through the whole area. It spills over objects linking them into a unique continuous whole. This way pedestrians are directed to go seamlessly through space, revealing new squares, places for rest, leisure, recreation and interesting viewpoints. Find the project in our portfolio.
