Hotel Rousseau’s

Hotel Rousseau’s

The owners of the hotel in the old town center bought a neighbouring building from the 18th century, with the idea to expand the capacity of the hotel. The new space had to be connected with the existing space, both physically and in the same style.
In the new facility, the client decided to have 13 apartments, a fitness room and a reception desk. By adding a glass corridor between objects, the client successfully linked the objects into one whole.
The client wanted two-bed apartments. In apartments with separate beds, it was necessary to provide a way to connect beds in one and remain a harmonious whole. In apartments with a double bed, clients wanted an unexpected detail – a baldachin that will add both warmth and extravagance to the apartment and at the same time be designed in such way that the hotel staff can easily maintain it. With partially transparent divider, each room is connected to the bathroom.
The big challenge was to incorporate modern furniture elements into the old building. We chose an industrial style by combining black metal and dark wood, as a contrast to the light oak floor and white walls.
With special techniques, the existing wooden beams and brick walls were restored, which gave a special charm to the new hotel areas. The turquoise colour is defined with the hotel’s visual identity book and brings lively life to the whole area.
