Salt & Water is an award-winning design team based in Novi Sad, Serbia. We specialize in residential and commercial architecture, interior design, as well as yacht design and aircraft interiors. For the past few years, our team has successfully combined the extensive practical knowledge on numerous projects across all above mentioned fields. By placing our client’s needs above all else, we are always ready to take on brand new design challenges. In all our endeavors we strive to create designs that are highly functional, customized, practical, innovative, daring, and yet stylistically impeccable.
WHAT WE DO
As a team, we have a vast experience in designing residential, business and commercial objects. Our projects have been developed not only in Serbia, yet in numerous countries around the world. We are always ready to hear or try something new. With each project, we try to create a unique design solution that matches the needs and personality of our clients. We appreciate the fact that every new object has to respect the existing architectural landscape. This includes cultural heritage and building regulations of the country.
We believe that the character of a residence or a workplace has to match all the quirkiness and the characteristics of a client’s personality. With that in mind, we design a wide variety of interiors, all in accordance with the requirements of our clients. Whether we work on residential, commercial, yacht or aircraft interior, our clients’ demands always come first. We aspire to get the most out of any available space and create fully functional, pleasant and stylish interiors.
Whether we are working on a motor yacht or a classic sailing boat, a brand new project or a reconstruction venture, we are always ready spread the sails and develop a high-quality solution. We design both the interior and the exterior of a vessel and are supported by a large network of international consultants, mostly engineers. With their help, we are able to design both aesthetically appealing and highly functional objects.
With years of experience in yacht and architecture design, we have specialized in creating highly practical floating objects. Combining our practical knowledge in the fields of architecture and yacht design, we developed a completely new system. In our work, we always tend to consult our collaborators and clients to understand their needs. Thus, we are able to create a complete object and get the most out of the desired location.
After many years spent at sea, we started working on ever challenging aviation interiors. This decision turned out to be the most progressive we’ve ever made. In 2014, we have gained an international recognition with our design for a private Boeing 787 VIP Dreamliner winning the “International Yacht & Aviation Award”. We aim to continue down this path, and together with our wide network of professional collaborators, we are able to present aircraft interiors that guarantee a safe and pleasant flight.
HOW WE MEASURE QUALITY
A good design is a useful one. It has to be based on the geometry and further possibilities of each individual object. This is why we believe that each designed space has to match the owner’s needs.
Quality design is not only determined by the visual identity, but also by the user’s tactile experience. To create designs that will pass the test of time, we pay much attention to the texture and structure of every material.
The best solutions are created through the fusion of different design fields. Thus, we try to keep in touch with all the latest research, innovative materials and studies. All this is further implemented into our new projects.
HOW WE WORK
1 GETTING TO KNOW THE PROJECT
Each venture we take starts with a proper introduction. Through the span of several thorough meetings, we observe our clients, their visions, needs, and demands. Here we try to understand the preferred style and what our clients want to achieve with each individual design. Read this text to learn more about the way we approach every new project.
2 BASIC LAYOUT
After the goal is set, we start with a research. First, we define all the specifics of the desired object and its geometry. Later on, these parameters are combined throughout the creative process. Thanks to the high-quality renderings, clients get the opportunity to visualize the space and review their impressions. After potential changes are made in accordance with the client’s requests, we start working on the concept design. Read this text to learn about the design process in our studio.
3 TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION
The project is further developed by preparing all necessary documentation and specification needed for its realization. In other words, we take this step to gather required information for our collaborators, suppliers, and craftsmen.
4 FURNITURE DESIGN

6 COMPLETE PLAN & WORK SCHEDULE
This step helps our clients to determine the cost of their project. Thus they are able to predict all costs, necessary works and their sequence, as well as potential corrections of interior design to reduce future costs. By creating this document, we want to be sure our clients are ready to pursue project execution. Read more about this process here.
For one place to be pleasant and comfy, it needs carefully chosen details. We work with numerous fine artists ready to create a perfect work of art to please our client’s aesthetic preferences. Read about the way we work in this text.
